This is why I love doing what I do :)

Kind words from recent couples:

“We had a fantastic day and owe it all to you - you did such a fantastic job and made everything run so smoothly.  We really appreciate all the trouble shooting you did, with the photo booth and seating chart, and there’s probably more that we’re not even aware of. Thanks again for making our day so special!”

“Jessica,

Thank you for all your help - more than one person mentioned to me that you made it all run smoothly. Not only that, the setup was lovely. I really appreciate you taking care of all the details on the day.

The entire weekend (welcome drinks, wedding, then dim sum brunch) was fun and easy. I thought it would all be more stressful! (probably would have been if you hadn’t been there ;) We’re very happy with the whole thing. Thanks again for everything - I’m very glad you were part of our wedding!”

Wedding Wednesday: Personalized Postage Stamps!

Picture postage! What a fun way to add some personality to your save-the-date, wedding invitation or thank-you envelopes :)

I LOVE snail mail and always have. I was a #1 pen-pal in elementary that’s for sure! Perhaps that is why I love my birthday so much - the one time of year that I receive bright and fun coloured envelopes in amongst bills and junk flyers. Or Christmas - but I almost get more joy out of sending all the cards than receiving.

All totally off topic but I’m getting to my point - I love snail mail so much that about 8 years ago, “Santa” left me some of these personalized stamps in my stocking as he knew that only I would love stamps more than lip gloss (oh how the times have changed!).

The stamp was an underwater photo during a trip to Maui but you can use any photo to create your own personalized stamp. So why not use a favorite shot of you and your soon-to-be or an engagement photo! Imagine something fun like these turned into a stamp…also helps to set the tone as well :)

The personalized stamps are reasonably priced - a full sheet contains 40 stamps and for 2-10 sheets they are $40.30 each. Just about a $1.00 per stamp and the current rate for a stamp within Canada is $0.59 anyways.

Venue Monday: Cecil Green Park House

A 1912 heritage mansion situated on the northeast corner of the University of British Columbia, Cecil Green Park House is renowned for wedding celebrations.

The best part about Cecil Green Park House is that in the summer months, you get the best of both worlds: a gorgeous outdoor back lawn space with scenic views of the ocean and North Shore mountains as well as an elegant indoor space filled with dark wood and timeless finishings.

As well, for weddings in particular, if you are hoping to have an outdoor ceremony (but we all know we can’t control mother nature) the rental fee includes the use of the covered back terrace for a “plan B”. Cecil Green Park House lawn can also be rented for ceremonies only.
